Caring for your pet jacket involves proper cleaning to maintain its durability and appearance. Follow these steps for washing and maintaining your canvas pet jacket:
Washing Instructions:
1. Read the Label:
Always check the care tag for specific washing instructions provided by the manufacturer.
2. Spot Clean:
• Use a damp cloth or sponge with mild soap to remove dirt or stains from small areas.
• Avoid soaking the entire jacket unless necessary.
3. Hand Wash (Preferred):
• Fill a basin with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild detergent.
• Submerge the jacket and gently agitate the water to clean.
• Use a soft brush for tougher stains, avoiding excessive scrubbing.
4. Machine Wash (if permitted):
• Use a gentle or delicate cycle with cold water.
• Turn the jacket inside out to protect its outer surface.
• Place the jacket in a laundry bag to minimize wear and tear.
• Use mild detergent and avoid bleach or fabric softeners.
Drying Instructions:
1. Air Dry:
• Lay the jacket flat on a clean towel to air dry naturally.
• Avoid direct sunlight or high heat, as it may cause the canvas to shrink or fade.
2. Tumble Dry (if allowed):
• Use a low-heat setting if the care tag specifies that tumble drying is safe.
• Remove the jacket promptly to prevent wrinkles.
Additional Care Tips:
• Reapply Waterproofing (if applicable):
If the jacket is water-resistant, consider reapplying a fabric-safe waterproofing spray after washing.
• Storage:
Store the jacket in a cool, dry place. Avoid folding for long periods to prevent creases.
• Avoid Harsh Chemicals:
Do not use bleach or harsh cleaning agents, as they can weaken the canvas fibers.
By following these care instructions, you can ensure your pet’s canvas jacket remains in excellent condition for long-term use.
